Mid-Autumn Festival Memories

Today is the day of the mid-autumn festival. It’s the second most important holiday after the Chinese New Year. It falls on the 15th day of the 8th month of the Chinese lunar calendar on a full moon night. During the festivities people celebrate the moon, give thanks for the harvest and eat mooncakes. Man… how I miss all those colourful decorations, the festive celebrations and the fire dragon dance.

Welcome to Cabo Verde

First impression after landing? Not so great. Dark, empty, gloomy. That changed after two days of being here. Cabo Verde is not only beach and desert, but there are also many interesting places on the island. Also, when it comes to diving. I didn’t expect much from diving here – caverns and wrecks but after two diving days I’m seriously impressed. Cabo Verde in my country’s ranking is very close to reaching the top 10.

Top 3 best and worst airlines

Eventually it had to write this post as what’s a travel life blog without a personal view on airlines, right? I never calculated how many miles I flew or how many hours I spent on board of an aircraft but once I sat in the cockpit. It was the most amazing experience ever. I don’t procrastinate, only I still have an ocean of time between now and the 10th of September. It wasn’t always this way. Couple of years back I had different pre-travel habits than now. However, some pre-travel habits have remained unchanged since 1999.

Airports are like Marmite. You either love it or hate it. Regardless, airports are fascinating places. They are like cities within cities and the way they operate… mind blowing. Look after your inner child

When I was 10 years old, I thought that people in the age of 30+ are serious, well established and do grown up stuff like going to work or driving a car. Man, little did I know about people in their 30ties by that time. Now I’m 35 myself and sometimes I feel like 7 or 16. Although I do the grown-up stuff like going to work or driving a car, I put all the effort in to keep my inner child alive. Otherwise, life would be so boring.
